AS&K's Assessment System

AS&K's web-based software solution is a flexible system that supports easy delivery of clients' tests, assessments, and surveys (for brevity's sake, tests, assessments, and surveys will be called assessments). AS&K provides full-service administrative support for the delivery of assessments or you can do it yourself.

You choose the level of support you want. Clients seeking full service support work with AS&K's operations team to establish the administrative process most suited to their needs. Clients seeking self-service support use the web-based software solution with minimal need for support from AS&K.

The AS&K System supports the following administrative functions:

1) Scheduling - selecting the start and end dates for assessment administration.

2) Registration - entering approved assessment respondents and the frequency of access to the assessment. There are two types of registration.

Self-registration - the respondents enter their own user names and passwords and must maintain them. There is no need to know precisely who the respondents are in advance.

Managed registration - the respondent is provided with a user name and password. A pre-established list of approved respondents must be compiled and they are assigned user names and passwords.

3) Tracking Status - obtaining reports of who has completed the assessments, who has partially completed it, and who has yet to begin.

4) Notification - constructing and sending email reminders, either automated or manually, to respondents.

5) Reporting - using a wizard to produce individual and group reports.

6) Data warehousing - storing client data securely in a database with easy access for later retrieval, transfer to client, trend analysis, etc.

Assessment Management

Generally there are three approaches to assessment administration; combinations and variations of these are possible.

Single rater, single login - the assessment is completed by one respondent and all respondents use the same login user name and password. This approach is suitable for assessments in which the client does not have a list of respondents and is not concerned about respondents completing the assessment more than once or not completing the assessment in one sitting. An example of this type of assessment is a brief customer satisfaction survey.
Single rater, unique login - the assessment is completed by one respondent and each respondent uses a unique user name and password. This approach is suitable for assessments in which it is important to know and control who has access to the assessment and the number of times the respondent can access the assessment to complete it or retake it. Two examples of this type of assessment are an employee opinion survey and a product knowledge multiple choice test.
Multi-rater, unique login - the assessment is completed by multiple respondents and each respondent uses a unique user name and password. This approach is suitable for assessments in which it is important to know and control who has access to the assessment and the number of times the respondent can access the assessment to complete it or retake it. Two examples of this type of assessment are a 360 leadership survey and a performance appraisal in which the supervisor and the direct report each complete the assessment.

My organization has its own measurement tool.

For clients with their own measurement tool or who used AS&K Consulting to develop a new measurement tool or a customized one, the AS&K operations team puts it online. This entails selecting and implementing a look-and-feel, a navigation scheme, and the preparation of required instructions to ensure a user friendly experience.
