About AS&K Sports' MSA
The Mental Skills Assessment (MSA) is an assessment of ten mental skills we've identified to be critical to peak performance in sports by compiling the results of thousands of leading scientific studies. This web-based assessment can be completed in less than one hour. Two versions of the MSA are available; there are versions for athletes who compete in team or individual sports.
The MSA Report
After the MSA is completed the athlete’s report and an interpretive guide are immediately available online. An expert coach is available to parents, coaches or athletes who want assistance in interpreting the report. Additional coaching services are available. All expert coaches are certified in the MSA and MSD.
The MSA can be purchased on an individual basis at $50 USD each. Coaches - contact us to learn about purchasing the MSA on a "team" basis. Team or group purchases are eligible for a discount.

*Note that occasionally we are asked why a particular attribute or skill is not included. The answer is that actually, the skill or attribute in question often is included; we just use different terminology, or it is represented by a combination of two or more of the mental skills above.
Applied Situations
For each mental skill, a number of items apply to each of the following six situations which are prominent in an athlete's life:
Multi-Rater MSA
The MSA for any one athlete may be completed by multiple raters. Having multiple rating sources (and potentially multiple raters within each source) provides for a richer report which serves as the basis to allow for greater opportunity to improve performance.

- The Athlete (self)
- Coaches
- Parents
- Teammates
- And others - a trainer, nutritionist, mentor, etc.
