 AS&K is an expert in conducting job analyses and competency modeling studies to define the critical work activities and skills required for an organization’s success.  AS&K employs a standards based approach which incoporates a high level of rigor for identifying job requriements and designing a human capital data model that delineates the work performed from the skills and knoweldge required to do the work.  These are called Work Standards Models

AS&K uses a variety of approaches to obtain job analysis information including:

  • Job observations
  • Document review
  • Focus group interviews
  • Expert interviews
  • Job task and skill surveys 

AS&K’s approach is unique because our model dlineates the critical work functions performed in an organization and the skills required to perform the work functions.  These work functions or building blocks are then combined in different combinations to describe job titles.  This “building blocks” approach is more flexible and more resistant to change than using the traditional job title approach to job analysis and competency modeling.

 

AS&K has developed Work Standards Models the following corporate functions:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Information Technology
  • Engineering
  • Customer Service

In addition, AS&K has a library of functions for general management and leadership skills

 The models have been organized within three levels for:

  1. Individual contributor
  2. Middle manager
